The longest minute is the last minute your washing machine shows. When the washing machine says it only needs 1 more minute, it can sometimes take several minutes before it's really done. I'll show you why that is in this video.

One reason could be that the water supply is not properly opened, so it takes longer until the washing machine is filled with water and until it runs properly, which shifts the time further and further back.

Another reason could be that you use too much washing powder. This causes more foaming in the washing machine. And it only finishes when there is no more foam. This can push the time back significantly.

Or you have overloaded the washing machine. The washing machine is marked with the number of kilograms it can hold. If you put in too much, it will take much longer for the laundry to be done. As a rule of thumb, when the laundry is in the machine, there should be a good hand's width free at the top.

And lastly, of course, the time display on your washing machine may simply be broken. Follow the tips mentioned here and in the future your washing machine should display the time correctly.
