UNPLUGGED AND RUNNING ON BATTERY

I did something last week I had never done before. I committed the unpardonable sin. While on a ministry trip to Oregon, I left my power cord to my computer in the hotel when I departed. Because I have a newer computer with a great battery, I could function while visiting my sister for the next three days. I didn't even look for my power cord because I had battery life left.
As you might imagine, when I prepared to do my video for the next day, horror of horrors, my battery was low, and I had no power cord.
The camel, they tell me, can go for days without drinking water because they have such a big container.
Modern technology makes The computer operate just fine on battery for many hours.
The Christians seem to function well on their journey because of the wealth of understanding and spiritual energy they have taken in.
However, at some point along the way.
The camel needs water.
The computer needs a power cord to recharge.
And the Christian needs time alone in the Father's presence, drawing from his spirit and word.
I often visualize Christians as I do the electric car they promote today.
They tell me that if you own an electric car, you are always conscious of where the next plug-in is so you can recharge.
On the contrary, Christians often don't look for the next recharge and run out of battery too soon.
They often forget that they need regular attention to the source of life, intimacy with the Father. I would say that they need it daily.
Yes, there are times when we are stretched in our schedules, and we are perfectly secure in his love and relationship with him.
I called that battery life.
But it's the plug-in time that we must remember. It's in the presence of the Lord that we find the fullness of joy and his right-hand pleasures forever more.
