3D Printed Moderators Are No Joke!

*THE MODERATORS DISPLAYED ARE ONLY FOR THE INTENT OF BEING USED WITH AIR RIFLES*

Things are getting serious with these rifles. On average, these rifles are emitting around 106 decibels of sound every time you shoot. So when hunting or casually plinking, sound can make all of the difference.

These 3D printed moderators are comprised of two different moderators (suppressors). This video is simply a test to see if it is durable enough to be used and to test its efficiency.

My overall experience is that the air-splitting snap went down. It was the comparable difference between hearing a whip crack and only hearing the thump of the rifle releasing the pellet!

The pellets used were FX .22 Pellets 18 grain

For a good perspective, the Max velocity for this rifle in each of its platforms: 1100 fps (.177), 1000 fps (.22), 900 fps (.25). The sound barrier is usually broken anywhere between 1,060 to 1,200 feet per second, depending on the conditions.

*A standard leather bullwhip would average 95 to 120 db
*Fireworks produce a sound output that is in the 150 to 175-decibel range
*Car horn: 110 decibels
*Nightclub: 110 decibels
*Ambulance siren: 112 decibels

How much louder is 100 decibels than 90?
10 times louder 😮
Therefore, a sound that is 100 decibels is 10 times louder than a sound that is 90 decibels (like an incoming subway train) and 100 times louder than a sound that is 80 decibels (like a vacuum cleaner)
