I love it when someone on the internet knows more about something than you do, and as a result you discover something amazing.

Thanks to @Wotsitorlabart I found this version of 'The Cutty Wren' that pre-dates my recent 1857 recording by over 100 years.

It certainly adds fuel to Lloyd's linking of the song with Richard II and the Peasant Revolt. His name is even in the song!
