Is AMC squeeze play over if the Shorters get to eliminate 99% of our shares for free on 8/24?

If you can borrow 100 of anything from someone and only have to pay them back 10 would you be in a great financial position? Once they eliminate 90% of the shorted shares they will start printing more counterfeit AMC shares to push the price back down again because we have no regulatory agencies in the USA that police the stock market
