MODEfigs: Sanjay Mortimer (2023)

Long after his passing: the Oxford Brick Festival 2023 was an opportunity to pay tribute to Sanjay Mortimer, co-founder of E3D.

I've been exhibiting my MODEfigs theme at Brick Festivals throughout the year, with new figures added to the roster for each event. This was the only new figure created for the Oxford Brick Festival, and was displayed with most of the figures I forgot to take with me to the London Brick Festival at Kensington Olympia.

I never had the opportunity to meet or speak to Sanjay: my only knowledge of him was through a YouTube video uploaded only months before his passing.
All I can say is that I have the utmost respect for him as a pioneer, and his contributions have made 3D printing a better hobby. I could only hope to make as much of an impact.

MODEfigs is the new name for SilentMode's long-running Mascoteers project: a series of small brick-built figures, which predates everybody's favourite red-squared theme by a year.
