Baldurs Gate 3 :) Stealing is weird

Even with High Dex, Sneak and sleight of hand stealing is still super weird to me in Baldurs Gate 3. I havent ever played DND so if im missing something please let me know. Besides that im really enjoying the game the choices, the character, the beautiful environments and enemies is awesome.
