Opening An Old Survival Kit - 40 Year Old Pak-Kit

I found this Pak-Kit survival kit in a box in my garage attic. It was there when we bought the house, and who knows how many years it had sat up there. Some of the items in the kit are pretty impervious to time, but it turns out that this chocolate was rancid and rotting away, and when it was exposed to air, it just kept getting more and more....aromatic.
