Why is there going to be a Tribulation?

We in the Christian Content Creator Community especially those of us interested in Biblical prophecy talk about, debate, speculate about things like the rapture, the tribulation, the antichrist, the mark of the beast, the millennium reign, etc. In today’s video I want to go back to basics and ask a simple question. Why is the Lord going to allow this world to go through a period which we call the tribulation? I mean the world is bad enough. Surely if He wanted; He could come back today defeat the forces of evil lock satan up in the bottomless pit and take His rightful place on His Throne. Surely God must have some purpose for putting the earth through this.
