Muhammad Ali will always be the GOAT in our book, not just because of his skills in the ring, but because of his love for our people and boldness in standing up for us and advocating for us without compromise. In this clip, he knows his answer will draw accusations of racism, but he doesn’t shy away from telling the truth. He presents the solution of separation without compromise and this solution still makes sense today. We don’t want to share a house with the people who’ve been abusing us in it for the last 500 years. We don’t want to save them or their souls. If in 500 years of trying to make moral people out of them, this is as far as they’ve come, then the project isn’t worth it. Either it’s a lost cause, or it’s a cause that is far too costly. All we want is peace for ourselves, independence, self-determination, the ability to chart our own path and choose our own destiny without all the oppression and exploitation that defines the colonial system we live under.
