3 Amazing NES Soundtracks On Games I Don't Actually Like

The Nintendo Entertainment System had amazing games, from Mario to Zelda, Metroid to Kirby. While there were many classics on the system, there were more than a few games that I loved the soundtrack but didn't care for the game itself. Let's take a look at 3 Amazing NES Soundtracks On Games I Don't Actually Like.

StarTropics
I've really tried to like this game, as I know many people love it. I just.. I can't. I don't like the movement of the characters, the RPG aspects, I just don't care for StarTropics (or the sequel for that matter). One thing that StarTropics really does well, however, is the music. I think the soundtrack is one of the best on the NES, and something I use regularly in videos.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
People have a love/hate relationship with Zelda 2, and I fall on the Hate side of it. I didn't care for the change in gameplay to a side scroller, or the change to the overworld map that made it more like a traditional RPG. But man, I love this soundtrack! If you have never had a chance to hear it I cannot recommend the Famicom Disk System audio enough, it sounds SO GOOD!

Anticipation
Originally developed by RARE, of course, Anticipation was going to have an awesome soundtrack. I did have this back when I was a kid, but I got is as either a bonus from Nintendo Power or as a call-in prize for Double Dare (I know I got Bugs Bunny's Birthday game this way). This knock-off of Trivial Pursuit looks and plays decently enough for what it is, but where it really shines is the soundtrack. A video board game doesn't deserve to sound as good as Anticipation sounds, but it's so good! It has a great mix of genres, from rock to do-wop and more. I think this is one of the least fun games I've ever played, but I can't deny how good the soundtrack is.
