Scot Stoddard // Enki Of Eridu preview

So I've started writing a new prog rock concept album! Probably not a surprise to anyone who follows this channel. This time we're in exploring the ancient civilization of Sumer in Mesopotamia, located in modern day Iraq. The Sumerians were an amazing culture, and I've been doing a ton of research on them.

Eridu was one of the first major cities in the world, founded somewhere around 5,500 BCE. Enki was their god of water, knowledge, crafts and creation. Thus, the first track I've written for this new album is titled Enki Of Eridu.

What you see is a screen capture of the middle section of this track with the music playing. I skip around to various instruments that are playing so you can all see the MIDI notation. There's no live bass or guitars yet, as I will do that when I get a group of four tracks written, so I'm doing that part of the recording in a group, for consistency. I think you'll quite be able to see where this track is going, and I hope you enjoy this presentation!
