9/3/23 6:45am 52 degrees. The 8 bed 7 bath lodge above us is full for Labor Day weekend. The constant sounds and smells of strangers meant the deer didn’t come for their afternoon or evening snacks yesterday. Early this morning it was a stampede. Even Scamp showed up. What you see on camera is not bugs or pollen, it is dew. Water droplets naked to the human eye and what creates the “smoke” in the Smokey Mountains. I’ve been feeding them from the mezzanine on the right side yard. The mountain wall surrounding them gives them peace and protection while they eat. Less chaos.
