Talk: Slippery People with James Coon

In 2014, at the age of 64, James Coon started performing comedy in Bangkok, Thailand. In early 2015, he moved to Berlin where he quickly became a regular on the Berlin comedy and spoken word scenes. Along with two full-run one-hour solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe (2018 and 2019), he has also performed in Bangkok, Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Dublin, Paris, London, Cincinnati, and Chicago. As the oldest living comedian in the Berlin English-language scene (potential rivals to that distinction having already died), James has garnered accolades far and wide, including this representative sample:

‟Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what happens when you take acid every day for sixty years.” ‟James is the most avant garde comedian in Berlin, and a good example of what happens if you do way too much acid in your twenties.” ‟I’m sure he must be writing that stuff on acid.”
