The Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) was a powerful empire in northern China. In Autumn 1212, the Mongols, led by Genghis Khan, launched their 2nd major campaign against the Jin Dynasty. The campaign resulted in the fall of the former Jin capital Zhongdu, and their Northern territories in modern day Manchuria. The Jin would continue to resist the Mongol advances until the catastrophic fall of their capital Kaifeng in 1234.
