Canadian taxpayers will have to take a write-down when Trudeau government sell TMX pipeline

Q: How much of this 30 billion dollar construction cost is your government going to eat on this sale?
A: The federal government is not in the business of running pipelines. We purchased that pipeline to ensure that it would be built and completed because that was in the national interest.
Q: Do you need to prepare Canadians for taxpayers having to take a write-down on this when you sell it?
A: We’re confident that the business case for Trans Mountain pipeline remains solid.
