Japan's space centre launches rocket carrying moon lander

Japan launched the H-IIA rocket carrying the national space agency's moon lander on Thursday, local time.

The rocket took off as planned and successfully released the Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM), according to Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
