44 40 The first universal cartridge

Today’s video is about the .44-40 cartridge.

The .44-40 started out as the proprietary .44 Winchester Centerfire (.44 WCF) in 1873, but by the end of the 19th century it was America’s universal cartridge. Every major gun maker chambered their rifles and revolvers to take this iconic round.
