DailyKenn.com — 18-year-old Jaelynn Marie Poturalski was fatally shot in Toledo, OH.

Arrested and charged with murder was her 16-year-old boyfriend. His name was not released.

In an interview with 13abc.com, a member of the suspect's family presented the incident as an accident.

"They say Jaelynn was trying to hold back her boyfriend from getting into it with other people in the neighborhood," the report explained.

“He said I was just trying to scare them. I didn’t mean to shoot her,” the mother said.
