Callie begins giving a profile of self-pity and its many debilitating characteristics. Idolatry is behind any “self” spirit. Self-pity is like a super glue that glues you to your past. You can receive helpful prayer but ultimately it is up to the individual to defeat this enemy. 1 Sam 15:23 Self-pity is one of the highest forms of pride. It is not founded in unworthiness but unapplauded pride. It is an unloving, anti-christ spirit which aims to separate us from God, ourselves and others. The Word of God is what heals us - how we view ourselves, how He sees us - not how the enemy sees us or the distorted way we see ourselves. Your enemy knows how to control you with something other than God. Anything that rules or controls us from within is an addiction. The spiritual root to addiction is the need to be loved. Callie gives personal testimony of how addictions can be broken and shattered hearts can be mended. This message goes way beyond self-pity and is one of hope and encouragement to all.
