Melissa Mason's Motion to Permanently Remove 'Stamped' from NHCS

On September 1, 2023, the New Hanover County Schools Board conducted a hearing on whether to remove Ibram X. Kendi's book 'Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You' from Ashley High School's AP Composition course. Melissa Mason fought for a permanent removal of the book from the school district. Not a single Republican board member would second her motion to remove 'Stamped.'
