WEX Wakeup: PA escaped murderer spotted armed in new area; COVID-19 boosters approved by FDA

Authorities provided an update early Tuesday morning into the manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante as the convicted murderer continues to evade law enforcement and "is armed" in a new location in Pennsylvania.
"PSP is pursuing Danelo Cavalcante in the area of Ridge Rd/Coventryville Rd/Daisy Point Rd in South Coventry Twp., Chester Co," the Pennsylvania State Police posted on social media shortly before 2 a.m. on Tuesday. "He is armed. Residents in the area are asked to lock all doors and windows, secure vehicles, and remain indoors. Do not approach. Call 911 if seen."

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) fired back at Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams and other liberal mayors over their complaints about the influx of immigrants in their sanctuary cities, seeing it as hypocritical and saying they "could not last a week in Texas."
The Republican governor's comments came in the wake of Adams calling him a "madman" for sending illegal immigrants by bus to sanctuary cities, including New York City and Chicago. Adams has decried the immigration crisis in the Big Apple, saying it will "destroy" his city and condemning President Joe Biden for not providing more support.

The Food and Drug Administration approved updated COVID-19 vaccinations ahead of schedule on Monday as hospitalizations have increased and public health officials are monitoring new strains of the virus.
“The public can be assured that these updated vaccines have met the agency’s rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality," said Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.
