The USA PATRIOT Act, also known as the "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act of 2001," was enacted on October 26, 2001, by the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

Its purpose is to deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around the world, to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools, and for other purposes.

The Act's official title is "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act of 2001."

A tidbit NOT in this video - while contemplating what should be in our Constitution, John Adams ordered more than 350 books from Europe and had them shipped to the Continental Congress. The topics were the various governments that had existed, their history, and their ultimate end. It was from these books that many of our Founding Fathers designed and molded our Constitution. There was one book they referenced that didn't need to be shipped as they all had a copy, most of them in a highly dilapidated condition but important to them nonetheless. It was the Bible.
