It Lives Inside Movie Review - Would it have been better to me if I understood certain things more?

I kept falling asleep while watching this at the latest Regal Mystery Movie Monday, so that might have been part of the reason I feel a bit ambivalent about this film. A lack of understanding about the cultural underpinnings at play might have also had something to do with it.
