28th session. 9-10-23. PARADIGM SHIFT FROM SATAN-JUDICIAL TO LOGOS-EDUCATIONAL

NOTE ON THE 9-10-23 CLASS
Although I have been very happy with many of the previous classes, I think this one was the best and most important so far. If you’re only going to listen to one class, this should be it. If you understand what was said, you’ll probably want to listen to all of the previous classes and all of the future classes. If you do decide to listen to the others, I recommend doing so in order, because this is academic learning with each class building on the previous classes.

CORRECTIONS TO MY STATEMENTS AT THE 9-10-23 CLASS
>> At 24:12 to 24:36 I said that Satan as the superhuman adversary to God only occurs at two places in the Tanakh: the book of Job and Zecharaiah 3. In fact Satan as a superhuman being also occurs at 1 Chronicles 21:1, where he tempts King David to take a census of the people of Israel.
>> At 27:45 to 27:53, referring to the Second Temple Period, I said “after the return to Babylon.” What I meant to say was “after the return from Babylon.”
>> At 59:14 to 59:21 I said “traditional Christianity is a Satan foundation.” What I meant to say was “traditional Christianity is based on a Satan foundation.”
>> At 1:25:43 to 1:25:50, referring to Matthew’s explanation of the Parable of the Wheat and Tares, I said “tares means bad people, and wheat means bad people.” What I meant to say was “wheat means good people.”
>> At 1:28:18 – 1:28:25, referring to the cases where Matthew takes content from Mark and changes it to make some people look guilty, I said there was “case after case after case” where we could actually see what Matthew did. In fact I have never counted the cases where Matthew does this. Off the top of my head I know of only two, both of which are theologically crucial, but in fact I do not know how many there are.
