Caught In The RAIN At Ledges State Park Iowa

In this episode of Wandering Wagners we traveled to Madrid Iowa to Ledges State Park! This park was suggested to us a few years back so we decided to make sure we visited when we were in Iowa next. This park requires you to reserve a site at least 2 days prior to your arrival and since we travel never knowing how long we will stay places, we didn't reserve a site here. Instead we waited until we arrived and had to do a self check in for same day arrivals, and we lucked out! They actually had 1 pull-thru full hook up site left so we snagged it. Perfect for our @NeXusRV Wraith and Jeep!
We were able to walk at least 5 miles each day between hiking the trails and walking the campground itself. This park has a lot of rock ledges, where it gets its name from, and instead of driving over a bridge over water, you get to drive through it, which was really fun! Walking the river with the dogs was really fun and brought back great memories from Idaho.
When we were hiking we got caught in the rain! Go figure haha always getting wet with us! Then Mike drove though the river with the @Jeep and pelted Lynn with water again! Wet and Wild here at Ledges State Park! @iowadnrLater we had lunch at the Colorado Grill in Boone, IA. It was great and Mike didn't get a burger! haha
We finished up this video with a bikini campfire because it got so hot and humid! It was perfect attire. However, Lynn had trouble using Mike's @BenchmadeKnifeCompany to cut open the firewood bundle and then couldn't start the torch! ugh! Great memories though!
