Our milky way is on collision

The Milky Way is on a collision course with the Andromeda Galaxy, a neighboring spiral galaxy. This collision is expected to occur in about 4.5 billion years. When it happens, the two galaxies will merge over a long period of time, forming a new, larger galaxy often referred to as "Milkomeda" or "Milkdromeda." Despite this collision, the vast distances between stars mean that individual stars are unlikely to collide, and the overall structure of our solar system is not expected to be greatly affected.
