The Striker Controlled Device is a replacement for your standard back plate on any Glock or Glock clone. Keeping pressure with your thumb while holstering on the striker controlled device makes it so the trigger cannot be pulled while doing so. Similar to keeping your thumb on the hammer of DA/SA hammer fired gun while you holster the weapon. Many new gun owners are too nervous to carry one in the chamber, I’m of the opinion that this little upgrade can help people carry with a loaded weapon more confidently. Knowing that nothing like a shirt or other object can get stuck in your trigger guard, causing the weapon to discharge during holstering your CCW. This item can be found on eBay for $38, the name brand version goes for $60-$80, in my case I went with the cheaper option and it works great, I haven’t had a single malfunction running the SCD.
