The Pygmy Three-toed Sloth, also known as the monk sloth, is the smallest of all sloth species in the world. Found exclusively on the Isla Escudo de Veraguas, a small island off the coast of Panama, these sloths are known for their slow-moving nature and long claws which they use to cling to trees. They have a shaggy coat of brown fur and a rounded head with a cute button nose. Unfortunately, the Pygmy Three-toed Sloth is currently listed as critically endangered due to habitat loss and hunting, with only a few hundred individuals left in the wild.
