A major study showed confidence in the medical system falling from 73% in 1966 to 44% in 2021. NPR found that only 52% of Americans have a great deal of trust in the Centers for Disease Control. Other health agencies were even lower. Only 37% of Americans said they had a lot of trust in the National Institutes of Health or the Food and Drug Administration. Every year, 80% of patients seek diagnoses – not via medical professionals but through their own internet searches. At more than one-fifth of the economy, healthcare risks losing serious market share if it continues to ignore its customers’ complaints.

The “healthcare industrial complex” has “captured” governmental legislative and regulatory processes for its own benefit, at the expense of American society.
