Truthophobia: How The Boomers Broke Journalism | Dr. Graham Majin

Why is the majority of Mainstream News, especially “respectable” news in TV and Newspapers today so utterly riddled with ideology, hit-pieces, falsehoods and outright lies. From the New York Times to BBC’s Evening News, were we should find reporting about what happened, we find spin and opinions that tell us what to think rather than what is going on. How did it all happen? On this channel, I have attributed a lot of blame on ideological schools, especially the neocons and culture war leftism but my guest today has a different theory. It’s a actually a generational issue.

This is neutrality studies and I’m joined today by Dr. Graham Majin, a senior lecturer in Documentary Journalsim at Bournemouth University and the author of “Truthphobia - How the Boomers Broke Journalism”

Dr Graham Majin has more than 20 years experience working in TV news, factual filmmaking and media production. He has been an on-screen reporter, news editor and senior producer – including 14 years at BBC News, during which time he regularly edited the evening news for London and the South East.
