Yes, there are snazzy hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger. However, these are not the best choice for many. After all, if you are beginning to dabble in crypto then it doesn’t make sense to spend half your crypto portfolio on a wallet. That’s where free wallets come in.

Exodus is the go-to free wallet I recommend to my friends. You can store 100+ coins here, they offer 24/7 live support, have an integrated exchange and provide you with upgradable security through their integration with Trezor. Also, both mobile and desktop versions of the wallet are available for download.

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot to say that Exodus is stunning to look at. In my humble opinion, it has one of the best interfaces in all of crypto.

Overall I give Exodus a big thumbs up and top marks to the guys over there!

🥈 Trust Wallet🥈

This wallet is mobile only and is available for both iOS and Android devices. So, I am afraid this is not the wallet for those of you constantly chained to a desktop.

When it comes to coin support, Trust Wallet is no slouch with every ERC-20 token under the sun supported along with the top coins on the market. The wallet also supports staking for Cosmos, Tron and Tezos. So if you are into passive income then you’ll probably like that feature.

Oh yes, this wallet is also owned by Binance. In short, if you are looking for a top mobile crypto wallet then look no further then this one.

🥉 Coinomi 🥉

Are you into exotic altcoins and privacy? If that’s you then Coinomi is the wallet you need. A mind boggling seventeen hundred crypto assets are supported and the wallet is available in both desktop and mobile versions.

Where Coinomi really excels is in the privacy arena. The guys over there at Coinomi HQ actually hide the IP addresses of users so that no one can snoop on what you're doing. Also, your wallet private keys are stored on your device and are not sent to Coinomi’s servers.

This wallet supports 80+ different cryptos and is renowned for its beginner friendly interface. Basically, if you want a no nonsense mobile or desktop wallet then you got to consider Jaxx. Oh yes, Jaxx also has features that other wallets do not such as the ability to select transaction fees.

This is one of the nicest looking wallets out there. It also supports over 300 coins and has both mobile and desktop versions. Atomic is one of the top wallets for staking coins and currently supports over nine. Yes, it has an inbuilt exchange as well. However, be careful when depositing fiat here - it is super expensive.
