*** How To Start An Argument In The South ! ***

Having grown up in the Carolinas and also lived in Texas , there is one thing I know will get everyone to start fighting about , how to pronounce Pecan ! Some say Pea Can and others say Pah Con . I personally say it both ways , such as Pea Can for the Pie and the Nut , but Pah Con for the Ice Cream , Butter Pah Con ( Butter Pecan ). I was born in North Carolina and raised in South Carolina and have been all over The South to include Georgia , Alabama , Tennessee , Mississippi , and Texas.

This has been an ongoing battle as long as I can remember. Some people want to say no it's not Pea Can , because a Pee Can is what you used to put under your bed so you didn't have to go out to the outhouse in the cold. Some say Pah Con is a Northern thing or someone is just trying to sound more sophisticated like they are society from Virginia and they speak Proper Southern. Yeah right. It is just another thing for people that have nothing better to do than try to make themselves look smarter or feel better about themselves because they are more educated than someone else.

I just say , let me have some Pecan Pie and Butter Pecan Ice Cream okay , just chill , and yes I want Sweet Tea of course !
