Video Brief 105: Coffee From Acorns

All acorns are edible. In this video I collect them, roast them, salt them, eat them, and I even turn them into a coffee substitute, just as the American Civil War soldiers used to do - and I do it in a way that anybody can do in the woods without any of today's modern conveniences. Let me tell you, this was a really pleasant exercise. Acorns, it turns out, are one of life's most overlooked luxuries. This is not just a thing to get by with: Acorns are in fact a delicacy. I can't believe that we just step right over this incredible resource in our day-today lives.
