British news outlets, including The Sunday Times, The Times of London, and Channel 4's "Dispatches," reported allegations against comedian and social influencer Russell Brand. Four women who knew him during a seven-year period at the height of his fame accused him of rape, sexual assault, and abuse.

Russell Brand strongly denied these allegations, asserting that all of his relationships were consensual. The accusers disclosed their experiences after being approached by reporters, citing Brand's increasing prominence as an online wellness influencer as a contributing factor in their decision to come forward.

Before the news stories were published, Brand released a video online addressing the allegations, which had been conveyed through "extremely disturbing letters" from a "mainstream media" television company and a newspaper. However, he did not specify the news organizations involved.
