Brumby can describe a breed not a wild state. The wild state would be described within the context that the word is used. Many people purchase unhandled brumbies and then handle them. The process of a wild brumby being caught and kept in captivity and subsequently handled is the process of domestication.
Horses that can be haltered and led, have their feet done and groomed etc are handled. All my horses are well handled. This palomino has actually been ridden.
