Reacting to Charismatic Christianity

Today we are talking about what is commonly called "Charismatic Christianity"; Churches which teach a faith centered around experiences of 'The Holy Spirit', 'Miracles', and a modern 'Revival' of 'Christianity' in the world. Many will know these types of churches by such practices like 'Speaking in tongues', "Faith Healing", and raucous church services which have people shaking and getting very worked up as they often attempt to reach altered states of consciousness which they consider 'gifts of the spirit' and 'revelations from God'. Many people criticize these Pastors, Preachers, and churches as predatory groups, which prey on suffering people looking for God, by offering them big bombastic sermons and services instead of the lifelong ascetic life so crucial to historic & apostolic Christianity.

I will share some history of this movement, and examples of these churches, and I will attempt to give a fair analysis of what we find. Is this faith from Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior? Is this faith the same faith which was revealed to the apostles? Or is this a corruption of that faith for material gain? This is the question I'm asking.
