KRS-One was the predominant force behind Boogie Down Productions (BDP), founded by Him and Scott La Rock. KRS is also a pioneer to Hip Hop, a philosopher, an activist, and a teacher. He also had one of the first hip hop battles & Beefs, known as The Bridge Wars.
