Senator Bob Menendez Indictment Could Impact a lot of Different Things #news #short

The report that Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey has been indicted for corruption, apparently literally involving being paid in bars of gold. I mean, who gets paid in bars of gold anymore? But he and his wife have both been indicted. He's been under investigation before. He's engaged in a number of unethical behaviors. He clearly believes in skirting the edge of the law.

This is a significant step, and it will be very interesting to see exactly what happens. Interestingly, here is a case where the Justice Department found somebody who, even though they're a Democrat, was so guilty, I mean, excepting bars of gold, that they felt they had to indict him, even though he's a very senior member of the Senate and a senior Democrat.

So, so big breaking story. I think that it could have a significant impact. He's chair of the Foreign Relations Committee. So it could really impact a lot of different things.
