Amp Demo Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb FSR

A Fender Deluxe Reverb re-issue of the Blackface era amplifier from 1965 in a limited edition Tolex called Fudge Brownie.

I'm sure this amp wasn't unique in having some issues though. I bought it used but it's in mint condition but it was noisy and harsh sounding at low volumes into the vibrato channel, so off it went for some fixes. Details in the entry on my website but suffice to say, afterwards it's dead quiet with no harshness and sounding superb with some nice valves replacing the standard Fender ones which were not too bad really. In at the moment are a pair of Philips Jan ECG 6V6s and some Mullard pre-amp valves.

I use a Gibson '58 Les Paul Junior re-issue with a single P90 single coil and an R7 with dual humbuckers for this video and use the Toneking Ironman II mini to keep the volume down. It gets louder to about 5 and thereafter doesn't do much more output level but just becomes more and more saturated.

A 20-22 Watt amp with a single 12" speaker, it's perfect for small gigs and is reasonably light.

03:41 - Volume up to 5
05:14 - Volume up to 6
06:41 - Volume up to 7
07:05 - Volume up to 10
07:18 - 3dB taken out attenuator trying to match the volume levels
08:35 - Volume back to 3 and input 1 plugged in
09:05 - Tremolo switched on
11:20 - Tremolo off and Reverb turned up from 2 and a bit to 5
12:55 - Reverb back to 2 and a bit and volume on input 1 turned up to 5
14:58 - Les Paul R7 into Vibrato channel input 2 set to 3
17:23 - Tremolo switched on
19:21 - Tremolo off and volume turned up to 5
20:51 - Les Paul again but input 1 and volume at 5
21:46 - Guitar volume rolled back for clean up
22:25 - Volume rolled up again
22:46 - Amp volume at 7. Crunchy!
