Speaker Of The House Resigns - Is this A Good Thing?

As far as accountability, democracy, and parliament go; the speaker of the house is the only member strapped with the authority to maintain any semblance of accountability. Having him thrown under the bus for this is detrimental and we shouldn't accept it.
