In this video, we’re going to talk about lactic acid and exercise. People often think that lactic acid is the cause of muscle soreness after exercise, but this is a common misconception. Lactic acid is actually removed from the body within 30 to 60 minutes of exercise.
Muscle soreness after a workout is typically caused by micro-trauma or mini tears in your muscles. Your muscles then take 5 to 7 days to fully heal, so inflammation during the recovery process can cause soreness as well.
Here are some workout recovery tips to avoid feeling sore after exercise:
•Avoid overtraining
•Avoid intense exercise during recovery
•Do not over-stretch your muscles
•Get adequate sleep
•Increase intake of omega-3 fatty acids
•Ensure adequate intake of B vitamins
•Ensure adequate vitamin E intake
