American Comics Account for 9% of the Market

According to Mark Millar, one of the greatest comic book creators, American Comics only account for 9% of the market. The rest fall into Dog Man and Manga categories. Within twenty years, DC and Marvel have fallen from grace, even though this is the most popular the brand has ever been.
(But then again more people may know Iron Man, but most don't read him.)
So what can we do to save the industry? Well..not much. Unless Marvel and DC are ready to do a complete overhaul, fire worthless weight, and bring back the giants of the 90s. But they'll never do that, their to afraid of losing those brownie points.
