Birthright Citizenship & Asylum

Birthright citizenship and asylum are two distinct legal concepts related to immigration. Birthright citizenship, also known as jus soli, is the principle that an individual is automatically granted citizenship in a country based on their place of birth, regardless of the nationality or immigration status of their parents.

On the other hand, asylum refers to protection given by a country to individuals who flee their home countries due to persecution or a well-founded fear of it. Asylum seekers are granted refuge if they can demonstrate that they meet the criteria specified in international or national laws.
