....Weekly Garden Update....30/09/23

....only a short video this week folks as we are getting towards the end of the growing season....finally got the time to get into the brassica cage and do some weeding....the cauliflower are going to seed, the sprouts seem to be making a comeback after being ravaged by caterpillars, the leeks are really thickening up well and I found a couple of beetroot at the back under the weeds....next around to the middle veg bed, some tomatoes, peppers and chillies just cropped from the greenhouse, parsnips in the corner, leeks doing well, still got some lettuce to use and some more lettuce going to seed and some more leeks in the corner doing well too....at the front a couple of potatoes in bags that I don't know will come to much and the rest of them have had the tops eaten by something....over to the baths where the carrots are coming along nicely, we've been thinning them out a bit and the ones we've pulled so far are small but very tasty, and at the end the last of the pickling onions are ready for pulling and pickling....around the back the chard is a bit past it's best but we are still using it and the 8ft tall tree spinach has been blown over by the high winds....in the greenhouse we still have a few peppers, a few tomatoes and some chillies going, but it is all nearly finished now....lastly up to the new veg bed that I tilled earlier today....the soil is tilled so fine I'm really impressed....it's starting to feel like Autumn here now, looking forward to lighting the woodburner shortly....that's for watching again folks....
