Earth's Lost Continents

The concept of "lost continents" often refers to hypothetical landmasses or ancient civilizations that are believed to have existed in the distant past but have since disappeared or sunk beneath the oceans. These ideas have captured the imaginations of many people and have been a popular subject in folklore and mythology. Some of the most famous "lost continents" include:

Atlantis is perhaps the most well-known lost continent, first mentioned by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato in his dialogues "Timaeus" and "Critias." According to Plato, Atlantis was a powerful and advanced civilization that existed around 9,000 years before his time and eventually sank into the Atlantic Ocean due to natural catastrophes. Despite numerous theories and speculative searches, no concrete evidence of Atlantis has yet been found.

Lemuria is a hypothetical lost continent that was proposed in the 19th century to explain the distribution of lemurs in Madagascar and India.

Mu is another legendary lost continent often associated with James Churchward, who claimed to have discovered ancient texts describing Mu in Central America.

Hyperborea was a mythical land in ancient Greek mythology, said to be located in the far north and inhabited by a happy and long-lived people. It is not considered a lost continent in the geological sense but rather a mythical place.

Kumari Kandam is a Tamil mythological concept that suggests the existence of a submerged landmass off the southern coast of India.
