Installing a two coat process of stucco.

I'm installing a two coat process instead of a three coat which requires a color coat on top but customer wants just a basic smooth coat finish which is more affordable and will work for this application. First layer is considered the scratch coat and after application using type s quikrete which is structurally designed for laying bricks and masonry and also for stucco. After applying a layer of mortar I use a notched trowel to scratch the coat for adhesion for the second coat. Second coat should not be applied until 48 hours after first coat has been applied.
