Ray Stevens recorded this fan-favorite in 1980 based on a run-in Stevens had one night with a group of Shriners at a hotel in Atlanta. "Shriner's Convention" appeared on the album of the same name with the cover featured in this video. It was a hit which made it all the way up to #7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.
