The Poes in Alexandria

The Poe legacy is due in no small part to Mrs. Marie Poe Clemm (1790-1871). This woman served as secretary, cook and housemaid to her daughter and her son-in-law / nephew. Existing solely on handouts despite multiple offers to sell her collection of Poe memorabilia, Mrs. Clemm's residence in Alexandria, Virginia has been largely unknown --- until now.
