Paddlefish might seem a bit scary when you see it with it's wide-open mouth, but they're actually filter feeders. They use that big mouth to filter out tiny organisms from the water, sort of like a living strainer. So, despite looking intimidating, they're harmless to us and have a fascinating way of getting their food.
